Bonnie L Skeffington age 74 of Dixon passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday Feb. 16, 2024 at KSB Hospital in Dixon. She was born on Aug. 1, 1949 in Rochelle, IL the daughter of John and Barbara (Lowe) Baker. Bonnie worked at the Dixon Phone Company, as a custodian at St. Anne Catholic School in Dixon, a school bus driver for Laidlaw Bus Company, and worked for the Dixon Public Schools where she was a Lunchroom Aid for Jefferson School. She loved spending time with her family and to her family she was the "best of the best". She was well liked and loved by anyone who knew her. She loved to travel to Wyoming. She enjoyed boating and her yard was her pride and joy. Bonnie was a long time member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Dixon. She volunteered with Operation Support, American Legion, scouting, and at St. Anne Church. Bonnie married Michael B. Skeffington on Oct. 19, 1968 at St. Anne Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on May 27, 2016. She is also preceded in death by her parents and sister Ellen Baker. Bonnie is survived by three children Desiree (Andrew) Marsh of Rock Falls, William (Tabitha) Skeffington of Dixon, Megan Skeffington of Dixon, grandchildren Nolan (Spenser) Yocum, Mackenzie (Mike) Niedermeier, Ean Llanas, Christian Llanas, Alex Stevens, Alissa (Nathan) Maloy, Kelsey Marsh, great grandchildren Nora Yocum, Millie Yocum, Ruby Yocum, Wyatt Scholl, Brena Cox, brother John (Gloria) Baker of Kirkwood IL, and sister Cathy (Nelson) Krahmer of Baileyville IL. Funeral services will be on Wednesday Feb. 21, 2024 at 10:30 AM at St. Anne Catholic Church in Dixon. Visitation will be on Tuesday Feb. 20, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Jones Funeral Home in Dixon. Arrangements by the Jones Funeral Home in Dixon. I did not know Bonnie well in high school, yet I'm sure those who did were blessed. She always struck me as a kind and gentle person, always displaying a friendly smile and pleasant demeanor. May she rest in peace, and may her family be strengthened and comforted at this time.
