James L. ‘Jim’ Brooks NAPERVILLE – James Lowell “Jim” Brooks, 69, of Naperville, formerly of Dixon, died Monday, Oct. 23, 2017, at his home. He managed a Hilton Hotel for 40 years, before his retirement. James was born July 25, 1948, in Dixon, the son of Leon and Pearl (Beatty) Brooks. He married Ellen Tracy on Sept. 6, 1969, in Dixon. Jim served in the Air Force. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Ellen Brooks of Dixon; and three sisters, Sharon King, Gloria (Larry) Contreas, and Gwen Gallentine, all of Dixon. James was preceded in death by one son, Douglas Brooks; his parents; and one brother, Warren Brooks. A memorial graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon. Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon is handling arrangements.
