After high school, I attended Sauk Valley College, planning on majoring in foreign languages. Not much need for foreign language teachers at that time, so when I transfered to NIU I changed my major to special education, with an emphasis on working with LD-EMR and emotionally disturbed children, and continued with a minor in Spanish.
After a few years of teaching, I then received my masters degree from WIU in Language Arts.
About 8 years ago, I decided to do some post graduate work and received certification in educational technology which led me into adult education.
This is my 35th year of teaching special education and I have taught at all grade levels, from kindergarten through high school and most disabilities.
