Stephen Jordan, 70, passed away on August 11, 2020, following a courageous 16-month battle with brain cancer. Steve was born and raised in Illinois and received his B.A. degree in architecture from Iowa State University. While at ISU he met Ethel, whom he married in 1973. He practiced architecture in Illinois until 1982 when he and his family relocated to Orange County, California, where he continued his career and raised his family. Steve was a loving and devoted husband and father, a dedicated and hard-working employee, and a passionate and committed volunteer. He loved his Lord and lived his faith every day. His legacy of service to others will live on in all who were blessed to volunteer alongside him or who benefited from his selfless generosity. Steve was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Mary, and his brothers Todd and Tim. Left to mourn his passing are his wife Ethel, daughters Elissa (Paul) and Stephanie, granddaughter Laila, sister Sandy, and numerous extended family members and friends. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to all of Steve's doctors, nurses, and other medical personnel associated with St. Joseph Hospital and Center for Cancer Prevention and Treatment, Orange, CA. In addition, the loving care provided by St. Joseph Health Home Care Hospice and Nurse Next Door Home Care Services during the last weeks of his life will never be forgotten. David started this message with a note to me. Thank you David. Steve was a true friend from Jefferson and DHS. We walked and rode to high school together for years. He was in Shirley and my wedding. An Eagle Scout in name and more importantly his actions to help others. His heart was larger than most any I have ever encountered!
