Michael Radke, 77, of Dixon, passed away peacefully at Serenity Home on Friday, February 13, 2026, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s Disease. A Vietnam veteran, he enlisted in the Army in 1967, and worked at the Dixon Fire Department, and later as a volunteer with Dixon Rural Fire Department. He retired from Dixon Correctional Center in 2003 where he worked for most of his career as a corrections officer. Mike (a.k.a. Beepa) loved animals of all kinds and was happiest when he was surrounded by his favorite people and the many dogs, cats, and critters that he befriended over the years. He is survived by his wife, Rachelle Radke, of Dixon, son Thomas Radke of Albuquerque, N.M., daughter Lisa (Jason) Schryver of Glen Ellyn, Ill., granddaughter Alyxandria (Jeremiah) Bitsui of Alpharetta, Ga., and brother Steven (Claudette) of Dixon. The family would like to send a special thanks to family members Susie Radke of Albuquerque, N.M., and Crystal Wakeley of Lee Center, Ill., for their boundless help and support, as well as granddaughter Ellie Schryver and great-granddaughters Olivia and Vivienne Bitsui for the much-needed levity they have provided over the years. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon, and Happy Tails Humane Society in Rock Falls. https://www.mcdonaldfuneralhomes.com/obituaries/Michael-G-Radke?obId=47257283
