Neil Shaffer

Graduated from the Institute of Drafting in Morrison, IL in 1968. Drafted into the US Army in 1969-70. Got married in 1973 and worked for the IL Dept. of Transportation and several companies in the Dixon area until 1983. Moved to Arizona for a job at T-PAC in 1983 then moved to the Fort Wayne, Indiana area in 1990 because of declining work for construction. The company, Masonite Concrete Products was sold in Indiana around 1995. We moved to Oklahoma City and I worked for Coreslab Structures until 2001 and transferred to the Phoenix, Arizona site while our youngest child attended college in AZ. Retired from Coreslab in 2011. We continue to live in Chandler, Arizona and spend time with both our sons and the grandchildren.

I enjoy watching my grandson, Zachary, and trying to home school him since the COVID-19 pandemic. I spend time with Matthew, Cassidy, Layna, and Nathan when I can. They love grandpa’s chocolate chip cookies. I enjoy learning to play the guitar also. I help take care of the house while my wife, Sherrie, works from home right now. We like to travel and would enjoy visiting Hawaii again in the future. A lot of our trips are with our sons and the grandkids to places like Disneyland and the beach in California.
